Samuel's Birth

I had pre-eclampsia from 37 weeks on. They demanded induction at
39weeks. Baby really didn't want to come, and my body just wasn't
ready, but he HAD to be born then.
I appreciate all the information from the hypnobabies coursework. For
the first two days of labor Hyponbabies kept me focused and fairly
relaxed. I got to the hospital without my birthing guide CD. I
really think that threw my focus and confidence.
My advice- check over and over again that it is packed even if you
don't plan to be in labor anytime soon!

The third day of labor, I was exahusted and felt like Hypnobabies
wasn't working at all... that I was out of control and a failure.
Finally, someone found my CD at home and brought it in. I didn't
notice a difference, but after the delivery, all the nurses, my doula,
and dh said there was a DRAMATIC difference once I started listening
to the scripts again (I'd kind of chucked them many hours earlier, as
the not having the birth guide felt disastrous).

Oh, also, the second day of labor, they found out little one had
turned transverse. They were thinking C-section, but gave me a little
time to try to get him to turn. I used the special place to
communicate with baby and visualize turning him.. it worked! In just
under an hour, he moved head down. Yea!

Thank you hypnobabies for helping to ease the trauma of all the
interventions we ended up having to have. I would have given up and
asked for a c-section without you! My birthstory wasn't anything like
I planned, but really think hypnobabies gave me the best birthing
experience I could have had considering how sick I was...

Whatever you do, fight for bfing immediately after birth, though!!!
He's such a champ, and I really think it's because of that special
first feeding when he was all awake right after birth- amazing!!!

Wishing everyone a most beautiful birthing!
